Tracking real income and expenditure for a full cycle before attempting to change anything.
- Income mapping, including irregular income
- Expense categorisation
- Identifying leakage
2. Building a budget you will keep
Constructing a budget from observed behaviour rather than intentions, so it survives contact with a real month.
- Fixed vs. variable commitments

3. Debt, credit and what borrowing costs
Reading a credit agreement and comparing offers on total cost rather than instalment size.

4. Saving, planning and protecting the plan
Turning an intention to save into a mechanism that works without ongoing willpower.
